Two hair roots are found in the single hair follicle. There appears to be no tubular sebum attached to the comedo, and new sebum is adherent to the surface of the comedo.

The dermal comedo and subcutaneous sebum are well developed, but the sebum in the sebaceous duct does not appear to be connected to the dermal comedo, and fresh sebum adheres to the surface of the comedo in the dermis.

The surface of the comedo is smooth and there appears to be no sebum attached along the comedo.
